We congratulate both current and former students of Faith College who have participated in the SALA festival this year. Our first off site SALA exhibition, Faith Between Here & There at Lindsay Wine estate, Vine Vale Road, Tanunda, has been a great experience and showcase of our first semester Year 10 Art and Design students.
Award winners for the Creative Souls Exhibition at the Barossa Regional Gallery, Tanunda include Amelia Geue: Year 12 Art, Ashleigh Harris: former Year 12 Design student and Eleanor Hughes: former Year 12 Art student – Congratulations! Georgia O’Dea, Morgan Wickham and Rose Goodwin also exhibited this year.
Elise Lewis, Year 10 Art, is to be commended for her paintings which were sold during the opening event on August 1. Ariana Cannan also sold one of her artworks at the Creative Souls exhibition. A fantastic result!
Our Year 12 Art students enjoyed visiting several SALA venues on Wednesday August 17, including Lambert Estate to see Treena Heuppauff’s richly textured mixed media paintings and Yalumba grounds and Wine Room to view Natural Weld, the rustic and eclectic metal sculptures of Tony Howard and Margie Patrick’s collage, using vegetation, rocks, bones, snake skins and even Echidna spines, meticulously arranged onto framed canvas. An Anthology of Curiosity also at the BRG, features a collection of mixed media assemblage, printmaking, engraving and the detailed hand cut paper works by former Faith Art student, Ellen Schlobohm, alongside mother, Sue Gerard and sister, Emmica.
We look forward to seeing this inspiration transpire into exciting major works for the Year 12 Art Show early in Term 4.
