More than a Performance November 28
When Faith College music students stepped off the bus at Tanunda Lutheran Home they were expecting to perform just like they do any other day. But this day was different. In the words of a Year 10 music student ‘When I started singing and I looked around the room, it really hit me as to how special this performance really was. I didn’t know how the residents would react but they all looked so happy, and sang along to the Christmas carols. It made me smile. It’s one of the most rewarding performances I’ve been involved in this year’. Almost 35 residents joined students at the Tanunda Lutheran Home Chapel in song to traditional carols including ‘While Shepherds Watched their Flocks’, ‘The First Noel’ and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’. Students also presented in small groups as part of their Music Ensemble performance assessments. Residents took the opportunity to reminisce about their own musical talents one resident mentioning they had enjoyed playing the piano accordian back in the day. As the festive season continues to unfold, students from the Harmonium Choir are now preparing for their next performance at the Yalumba Christmas Carols, Tuesday December 19.
