On Friday the 12th of May, the Open Girls Football team competed against Nuriootpa High School and Trinity College at Trinity College, Gawler. The girls played their first game against Nuriootpa High School, which after a slow start turned into a tightly contested battle. Despite conceding 2.2 in the first quarter, the girls improved their attack on the ball allowing Molly Wellman, Talia Green and Katrina Schiller the opportunity to convert in the second term. This resulted in a one-point lead at half time. The third quarter saw some excellent defensive pressure and a goal scored by Aspen Wood. The girls continued their fierce tackling and intensity into the final term, where Rhea Cameron was able to convert an impressive mark in order to give us a 5 point lead at the final siren.

The final score was Faith 5.4 (34) defeated Nuriootpa High School 4.5 (29)

Immediately following this game, theĀ girls had their second contest against Trinity College. Following a slow start where Trinity were able to outscore us by two goals in the first term the girls adjusted quickly to the speed of the game. Chelsea Nangle provided some excellent ruck work in the centre of the ground, allowing Molly Wellman, Claudia Sabeeney and Rhea Cameron to effectively clear the ball. This resulted in an even second and third term. Despite some excellent defensive play by Becky Havis and a strong tackle on the boundary line by Chelsea Nangle Trinity College were able to come away with the win.

The final score was Trinity College 6.5 (41) defeated Faith 3.3 (21)

All girls represented the College to an exemplary standard and were a pleasure to coach. They should be proud of their efforts.
