On the Road Again – Faith College Music Tour November 29

Faith College music students embarked on the annual Year 8 Barossa School’s Day Tour Wednesday November 29. Good Shepherd Lutheran School & Tanunda Lutheran School were the scheduled tour stops and audiences from the Early Learning Centre up to Year 7 beamed throughout the performances. A highlight for students was the opportunity to get involved with the instrument warmup through a clapping game cleverly led by Music Teacher Mr Frank Cammans. Individual performers engaged the audience by asking them to guess which instrument they were playing, then following up with a short demonstration of how the instruments sound. After a beautiful excerpt from Silent Night, flutists also proved that it was indeed impossible to play the flute while laughing. A lovely moment shared by all. The tour raises confidence for students who in many cases may have only been playing an instrument or learning how to read music from the beginning of the year. The day also created curiosity for primary school students inquisitive about the types of musical instruments including the voice that make up the wonderful world of music.
