On Monday September 5th the winners from Faith’s Science Investigation Awards showcase went to the Royal Adelaide Show for the state finals. Faith students did exceptionally well and the following students won prizes. It is a great achievement to be selected from schools throughout the state for a prize at this level.
Senior Food and Fibre Investigation 1st prize ($300): Margot Pick and Matilda Allert -Does organic vs commercial diet in ducks affect growth rate?
Year 9 Science Investigation 2nd Prize ($150): Anneka Wilksch -The Effectiveness of Firelighters in terms of Ignition and Burn times; comparing firelighters fresh from packaging with those after exposed to the air for 7 days.
Senior Science Investigation Award (Year 10 to 12) 1st ($250): Harry van der Lende and Dylan Kalleske: The effect of air pressure and barrel length of muzzle velocity for a compressed air gun.
Congratulations also to Lucy Anderson, Adam Schutz and Sheldon Scholz, Tyla Jones and Lucy Zilm for also being selected to represent Faith at the state finals of the Science Investigation Awards.
