Faith Lutheran College ELC & Junior Campus will present their whole school musical in Term 4, led by a production team of Year 5 and 6 students.
From start to finish, guided by Mrs Adams (Performing Arts Teacher) the Year 5 and 6 students will adopt specific roles to oversee all elements of the musical. “This experience is one that provides students with incredible responsibility, ownership, opportunity and growth… They are alive with possibilities and ready to get going. There’s no holding them back now!” – Mrs Adams
Chosen by our student led production team (Producers, Directors and Assistant Directors) the musical, entitled ‘DOWNLOAD’, is written by Julie Argyle-Cross and Andrew Ferguson. The playwrights have specially permitted our students to perform an adaptation of the musical, with the students own choice of music for the production.
The production team explains the story, “The script DOWNLOAD is about a boy named Michael who feels like his parents aren’t allowing him to do the things he wants. He uses his computer and finds a website allowing him to DOWNLOAD new parents. On the journey of downloading his new parents, he discovers that his real parents aren’t so bad after all…”
The Harvest Centre will be modified to become a theatre to house the production, meaning the students will have a greater experience of running their own theatre right here at school. We look forward to seeing our space transformed with the magic of theatre!
