At Faith Lutheran College, students are not confined to a one-size-fits-all education. Trailblazing is a habit encouraged by educators who constantly push the boundaries and explore innovative ideas to grow and support our current generation of learners. Our focus is purposeful and intentional as the College pursues its vision “to inspire and equip every student to discover, develop and use their gifts, embrace life’s challenges and follow Christ.”

Faith Lutheran College believes that every child has a spark, a special ‘something’ about them that makes them truly extraordinary. To ignite this spark, in 2022 Faith will launch another opportunity to add ‘extra’ to the ‘ordinary’ by offering a specialised Arts program.

Identified as ‘Aspire’, this program is available to Faith students in Years 7 to 12 and aims to encourage and develop students as they explore new skills, try different techniques and establish their distinction as a performing artist.

Designed to foster and develop connections with industry experts, Aspire will deliver a specialised opportunity to launch and establish professional arts pathways in the largest regional theatre in SA – the College’s very own onsite Barossa Arts Centre!

Two streams are available for students to consider – Performing Arts and Music. Places are limited and a detailed application process has been developed to provide a ‘real world’ audition experience for interested students.

Aspire has been championed by Faith’s passionate Arts team, who wholeheartedly believe that immersive Arts experiences in a school setting can be an important launchpad for young performers. It is this underpinning belief that has led the team at Faith to explore new ways to extend and inspire students to actively pursue dedicated and distinctive creative arts opportunities through their education. According to Faith’s Arts Learning Area Coordinator, Mel Crawford, Aspire has a clear vision; “to encourage students to be uniquely themselves within an Arts space and to help determine what makes each student distinctive as an artist.”

From Broadway to big stage national festival circuits, national radio, sell-out Fringe shows, and roles on critically acclaimed television series, over time the centre stage at Faith has welcomed the presence of many talented students, with Alumni pursuing careers in the Arts, both near and far. Through the Aspire program, Faith seeks to foster the talents of our next generation of rising stars to develop performing artists who are both stage and world-ready.

Applications are due 9am Monday 13 September.  Application information can be found via this link: https://forms.office.com/r/P6BjqwpBtS
