We were thrilled to host well-known historian, writer and parent of the College, John Harms in the Resource Centre. John worked with the Year 4/5 students on developing ideas for a short story and narrative writing. He introduced different strategies to create ideas and detail to narratives in the planning stages. As a group students began to plan our individual narratives that stemmed from an experience over the Easter long weekend. The group helped George develop his Pavlova Story and Oliver develop his Bike Stack story by questioning to promote additional detail.
John was an excellent presenter and all the students and teachers were completely engaged with the workshop and knowledge he had to share with us. We all found his stories he told throughout the workshop relatable and quite funny.
